PLACY® Junior Assessor Certification Course in Children and Youth Physical Literacy
Programme Detail (2026)
- PLACY® organised the Junior Assessor Certification Course in Children and Youth Physical Literacy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong to develop professionals with the knowledge and practical competencies required to conduct physical literacy assessments for children and adolescents. The course aimed to promote the standardisation and professional development of physical literacy assessment through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical training, and competency assessment.
- The programme covered a range of core physical fitness assessment domains and provided systematic training in assessment procedures, testing techniques, data recording, and practical applications. Through hands-on learning and structured assessment, participants developed the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to conduct physical literacy and physical fitness assessments in accordance with standardised protocols. Participants who successfully completed the course and assessment were equipped to serve as Junior Assessors in school, community, and related service settings.
- The course further strengthened professional capacity building in children and youth physical literacy assessment while supporting the wider application of standardised assessment practices across educational and community contexts. Through ongoing professional training and workforce development, PLACY® remains committed to cultivating qualified assessors and advancing the long-term development of physical literacy among children and adolescents.
