Kindergarten – AMPLE Programme (RGC)
Project Detail (June 2024 – Present)
- The AMPLE Program, funded by the Research Grants Council (RGC), is an early childhood initiative led by the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at CUHK. It aims to foster the holistic development of children aged 3 to 5 through an integrated approach combining physical movement and cognitive engagement.
- As the designated standardized testing partner, PLACY® provides technical support encompassing venue planning, test implementation, and staffing coordination. The assessment framework covers three core domains—cardiorespiratory fitness, fundamental movement skills, and executive function—with eight rounds of data collection across four phases per school.
- The school-based, low-risk protocol has been successfully implemented in six kindergartens. Preliminary feedback reflects strong pedagogical alignment and practical value in supporting both student development and curriculum planning.
